Top Tips For Ordering A Cake

  • To help me to check my availability and to also start to design a cake for you straight away, please provide as much information as you can on first contact including:

    • number of guests the cake needs to serve

    • date required,

    • flavours (vanilla, chocolate fudge, carrot, red velvet, lemon and coffee),

    • colours and other customisation

    • pictures of any cakes which may have inspired you

  • Please get in touch as soon as possible.  You can never get in touch too soon as we may need to discuss the design in more detail or refine the quotation before it is finalised.  There are lots of stages which go into producing a custom design for example, some parts of the cake need to be made well in advance, not forgetting ordering the supplies in time.  Ideally, I need a minimum of 2 weeks notice please (subject to availability).

  • If you’ve never ordered a cake before, you may not have any idea how much it will cost.  I am happy to provide a quote for you but if you do have a budget, please do let me know up front so that I can guide you on what is possible.  Broadly speaking an 8” round cake, which serves approx. 22, covered in fondant will start at £90.

  • Collecting your cake and delivering your precious cargo can fill you with dread but I’ve provided some useful information on transporting your cake here

  • If you are unhappy with anything, please do talk to me. I appreciate it can be a daunting process ordering a custom made cake, so please make sure you check that the description on your order form matches the design you want as this will be what I use when I come to make your cake.  I am more than happy to make as many changes to the design as you need to make sure the cake is perfect for your celebration.  If you notice something you are not happy with when you collect the cake, please do mention it at the time as I may be able to make an adjustment there and then.  Happy customers are repeat customers!
