Every cake is designed with attention to proportion, colour, and detail, and baked to ensure it is soft, moist, and full of flavour. The finish matters just as much as the taste, and neither is rushed.

My love of baking began at home, decorating cakes for my children’s birthdays. With training, practice, and encouragement from friends and family, that passion grew into Piece of Cake by Clare in 2017. What started with children’s cakes has since expanded to designs for baby showers, christenings, milestone birthdays, and other meaningful celebrations.

​

In 2024, I introduced Piece of Cake by Clare Cake Classes, offering relaxed, supportive decorating sessions for all skill levels. These classes focus on developing confident buttercream and fondant techniques, with an emphasis on clean finishes and thoughtful design.

Based in Ascot, Berkshire, I create cakes for customers across Ascot, Sunninghill, Sunningdale, Bracknell, Windsor, and surrounding areas. As I work around family life and take on a limited number of cakes, availability can be restricted, so early enquiries are always recommended.

Shop-bought cakes certainly have their place, but some occasions call for something more personal. If you’re choosing a cake for someone special, I’d love to create something that reflects both the celebration and the care behind it.
